Located mid-way between Le Mans and Tours the original chateau on this site dates back to 1554. Deemed too small and in bad repair it was demolished and another bigger one built in the 19c. The current chateau (which is not listed) and estate stayed in the possession of the local family until the 1960s when it was bequeathed to a school foundation who transformed the outbuildings into classrooms and workshops and modified the interior of the chateau’s upper floors into dormitories, washrooms and salons in the 1970s. The chateau roof was replaced, heating, plumbing and electricity all upgraded with the addition of workshops and a large indoor sports facility (amongst others) in the late 1990s. The estate has been largely uninhabited since 2014 when the school moved into new premises nearer to Le Mans.
The main chateau was completely renovated on the 1970s and then modernised in 1998/99. It has over 1200m² of living space over four floors:
